With 12 years at the helm, Andrzejewski is New Castle County's longest serving super. His 31 years in Red Clay include stints as a teacher, volleyball coach, educational diagnostician, student advisor, assistant principal and principal. He is a lifelong Red Clay School District resident.
A Salesianum graduate, Andrzejewski gave his twin sons the option to attend his alma mater, and planned to step down as superintendent if they chose it. However, they opted to stay in Red Clay schools and graduated from A.I. duPont High in 2005.
Andrzejewski grew up in Woodcrest when Conrad was a high school, he was its principal when it was a middle school, and brought back its high school component with the creation of Conrad Schools of Science while he was superintendent.
Under Andrzejewski, Brandywine Springs became the state’s first public school with a kindergarten through eighth grade format.
