Man 20, Charged with Raping Girl, 13

New Castle County Police have arrested Marvin Banks, a 20 year old male whose last known address was in the 900 block of North Pine Street in the City of Wilmington. He has been charged with rape in the fourth degree after he engaged in sexual relations with an acquaintance.

On December 3, 2011, detectives were assigned to investigate a reported rape involving a 13 year old girl. Police learned that the incident occurred while the Pennsylvania teen was visiting a residence in Delaware(additional information regarding the circumstances and location is being withheld to protect the victim’s identity). 

A computer check revealed that Banks had an outstanding capias in Delawareand two warrants out of Pennsylvania for violation of probation. On Wednesday (01/11), detectives made contact with Banks at the aforementioned residence and he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported back to county headquarters and investigators were later able to confirm his involvement in the crime.

Marvin Banks was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute after he failed to post $10,000 secured bail.
