Sussex Democratic committee members will meet at the Greenwood CHEER Center tonight (Wed.) to select a new 19th District Senate candidate, after Eddy Parker stepped down prior to last night's special-election debate at the SCCOR meeting. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m.

Potential candidates include the late Sen. Thurman Adams' daughter, Polly Mervine, as well as former county councilman Lynn Rogers, who were among the top nominees at the party's previous caucus.

Greenwood resident Matthew Opaliski, a former candidate for the seat, also said that he is considering a run, although he has not yet made a final decision.
