Groux, of Newark, said no one expected such a scoring fest by the Blue.
“We just had a good game, I guess,” said Groux, who will play for Salisbury. “We played the same way on Thursday [during practice]. We just came together.”
DeDominicis, of Greenville, said most of the players have played together before, including summer and club teams, and they’re all friends. So, practicing just once was not a big deal.
DeDominicis was presented with the Jay Spilecki Memorial Scholarship before the game. The $1,000 scholarships go to high school players who plan to pursue lacrosse in college and are in good academic standing in honor of Spilecki, who played lacrosse for Brandywine High School. He died in a car accident.
“I know Andy and Will Spilecki well (Jay’s brothers). The whole family loves lacrosse,” said DeDominicis, who will play for Williams College. “It’s just an honor to be picked for it.”
