U.S. Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) and U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Ted Kaufman (both D-Del.) requested the consideration of a stamp in honor of two station masters of the Underground Railroad.

Thomas Garrett, who hailed from Wilmington, and William Still, formerly of Philadelphia, would be the subjects of the stamp.

Delaware’s congressional delegation sent a letter on behalf of Robert Seeley, a direct descendent of Thomas Garrett, in support of the "Together for Freedom" stamp to the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee at the United States Postal Service on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

The stamp would honor the unique partnerships fostered throughout the course of the Underground Railroad.
