New Castle County and Delaware State Police worked together to identify and charge a suspect in connection with a burglary at a Wilmington home last week.
Megan Blackiston, 24, of the 1700 block of Walnut Street in the community of Holly Oak in Wilmington, was charged with burglary and theft in the Jan. 25 incident. She was released on an unsecured $3,500 bond.
At 4:50 p.m. on Jan. 25, police responded to a burglary in the 1800 block of Walnut Street. According to police, someone had entered the 77-year-old victim's home through the rear basement door and removed unspecified property from the residence. Meanwhile, a Delaware State trooper, who had Blackiston in custody in an unrelated incident, allegedly discovered the stolen property in Blackiston's possession.
