Nearly 300 local children participated in Montell Owens' Youth Football Camp at Concord High School in Brandywine Hundred Monday. Owens said he has a platform to do something to change the climate in the community and help youths succeed in life. Owens was an honor roll student at Concord, where he played football and baseball and ran track, and he received a football scholarship to the University of Maine. Then, he was signed as an undrafted rookie in 2006 by the Jacksonville Jaguars and is now regarded as one of the NFL’s top special teams players.
