The Theology on Tap series is observing the “Year for Priests” by featuring four priests and one bishop as this year’s Advent presenters.
The Diocese of Wilmington’s Office for Catholic Youth Ministry offers the free program for young adults in their 20s and 30s, married or single. Theology on Tap brings talks on religious topics into a local bar, Catherine Rooney’s Irish Restaurant and Pub in Wilmington’s historic Forty Acres.
Pope Benedict XVI declared a “Year for Priests” beginning on June 19. The year will conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with the Holy Father from June 9-11, 2010.
Theology on Tap will be held four Tuesday nights from late November to mid December. The series begins on Nov. 24 when Father Len Kempski, who was ordained in 1966, and Father Tim Nolan, who was ordained in 2002, discuss priestly vocations from two generations.
On Dec. 1, Father John Gayton will talk about his ministry to the military and his deployment to Iraq with the United States Marines.
On Dec. 8, Bishop Francis Malooly will share his vocation story.

“Since Pope Benedict XVI declared a 'Year for Priests,' we felt it was a good opportunity to highlight some of the varied ministries our priests are involved in,” said coordinator Susan Murray. “We invite all young adults, in their twenties and thirties, married or single, to join us for fellowship, faith and fun.”
