Meet Kristen Margiotta
Age: 26
Home: Newark
Education: Padua Academy, 2001; B.F.A in visual communications, illustration concentration, University of Delaware 2005.
Job: artist and art instructor
Honors: 2nd Place at Canal Fest in Delaware City 2009, Awarded Solo Exhibition by Delaware Division of the Arts, 2008, 1st Place in Professional Category for Wilmington National Arts Program 2007, Accepted into Juried Exhibitions: Delaware Women’s Conference Fine Art Exhibit (2005 & 2009) and Crybaby Gallery (N.J.) Art at Large Exhibition 2008.
Book recommendation: The Gospel of Thomas
Movie recommendation: Beetlejuice, Return to Oz, Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass (Harry Harris version).
 

Q: What is your single biggest day-to-day challenge?
A: Finding a way to market and advertise who I am and what I do.

Q: What is your secret to happiness?
A: Try to stay positive about everything and always look for something good in anything, even when it’s bad or may get you down.

Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: Continue to do what I’m doing now, but have more illustration work and my online store “Cherry’s Closet” to take off, and I see that happening.

Q: Briefly describe a pivotal moment in your career.
A: Being awarded my first solo exhibition through Delaware Division of the Arts and my first illustrated children’s book, Better Haunted Homes and Gardens which was released this year.
