Wilmington resident Nick Sembiante recently founded Crunchtime Fitness LLC and has brings his mobile fitness programs to clients throughout the Hockessin area. The Community News caught up with Sembiante to drill down on some of the fundamentals of getting in shape.

Q) What led you to found Crunchtime Fitness LLC?

A) A lot of people over the years told me I have a knack for helping others get results quickly, whether it was helping someone lose weight of helping them to get back on their feet after an injury. They kept asking me, “Why don’t you go into business for yourself?”

Q) How does the mobile component work?

A) My company offers mobile fitness to those wanting to be trained in the privacy and comfort of their own homes and offices. In other words, Crunchtime Fitness LLC brings the gym to you. Modalities would include exercise mats, medicine balls, physio balls, hand weights, cuff weights, exercise bands, etc.

Q) What are the challenges of running a mobile fitness company?

A) The only challenges are scheduling and the occasional traffic congestion.

Q) What do you enjoy about the work?

A) I enjoy meeting and working with a variety of personalities and helping them reach their goals?

Q) What is the biggest obstacle most people face when getting in shape?

A) The biggest obstacle to getting in shape are everyday temptations because getting in shape includes not only exercise, but eating right and making certain lifestyle changes. For example: one must avoid unhealthy food and control the size of their food portions.

Q) What is one thing everyone should know before they start a fitness regimen?

A) Starting a fitness regimen takes commitment. Realize that results don’t happen overnight.

Q) What does it take to be a good personal fitness trainer?

A) To be a good personal fitness trainer you need to be able to work with all populations, whether it be a young athlete, a baby boomer trying to lose weight or a senior citizen trying to regain or maintain their strength. You must also be creative and able to think fast on your feet, because not everyone is the same. A trainer needs to modify exercises to coincide with a person’s particular needs.
