Delaware Boots on the Ground started as a small, grassroots operation to raise money to take care of deployed soldiers and their families. It and grew by leaps and bounds, reaching the steps of the capitol in June when Gov. Ruth Ann Minner declared July 4 “Delaware Boots on the Ground Day.” Now, the organization is holding its largest fundraising drive ever -- a weeklong collection at more than 30 businesses throughout Delaware.
