Libertarian Party candidate Wendy Jones, of Milton, will join Rep. Joe Booth in the race for the 19th District Senate seat. An Aug. 3 special election will be held. Jones also joined Booth in Tuesday night's special-election debate at the American Legion in Oak Orchard.

Jones is a lifetime NRA member, small business owner, and a 20-year active Libertarian. She also volunteers time for a mentor program at H.O. Brittingham Elementary, in Milton.

"Seeing her go toe to toe with Joe Booth was exciting and I am confident that we have the best candidate in the race," Sussex Libertarian Chair Brian Shields said on local blog Delawarepolitics.net.
