The Countian has learned that a potential third candidate for the 19th District Senate seat may participate in the candidates' debate set for Tuesday night (July 7) at the American Legion, in Oak Orchard.

The event was initially billed as a Democrat vs. Republican debate between Eddy Parker and Rep. Joe Booth (R-Georgetown), part of the July 7 Sussex County Community Organized Regiment meeting.

The special election for the late Thurman Adams' seat will take place Aug. 3, announced on Tuesday. While Booth and Parker have received party-committee nominations, Sussex County Deputy Election Commissioner Jean Turner said no one has officially filed yet.
