Lightning struck a Hockessin home during a severe rainstorm Wednesday evening causing a fire and minor damage to the roof.
The Hockessin Fire Company responded to a 9-1-1 call to the Temby Chase home shortly before 7:30 p.m. July 23, to find smoke coming from the roof. Firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes.
Two adults who occupied the home were not injured. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
