Attempted robbery ends in stabbing

Stanton, Del. —

A 21-year-old man and would-be robber, ended up with stab injuries during a fight near Canby Park on Nov. 7, according to Delaware State Police.

The victim was approached by a man in a dark-colored hoodie while he was walking down the railroad tracks in the area of Maryland Avenue between 6:30 and 7:30 at night, police said. The suspect demanded property, but a fight followed.

The victim was able to get away, but realized he was stabbed in the chest and contacted a friend to take him to the hospital.

The suspect was admitted to an area hospital with a stab wound.
