Two men drove a stolen car to the Claymont Home Depot, where they broke into two more cars in the parking lot on Jan. 28, before they were chased by one of their victims and lost control of their car on Rt. 202, according to Delaware State Police.

Police said 30-year-old Ramon Seijo and 21-year-old Michael Negron, both of Philadelphia, broke into cars in the parking lot of the Home Depot in Northtown Plaza Shopping Center at 1:15 a.m. A customer approached them when he saw them take water out of his pickup, but they drove away, police said.

When the man, who was not identified, noticed his lock was damaged and his GPS was missing, he pursued Seijo and Negron.

While trying to elude his following victim, Seijo lost control of his stolen minivan when he tried to turn onto Naamans Creek Road from Rt. 202, police said. The van ended up in the southbound lanes of Rt. 202 and Seijo began to drive back into Delaware. When he ran a red light at Naamans Road, he hit another pickup, driven by Harry Eder, 79, of Media, Pa. The pickup was flipped up onto its side, police said, and Seijo and Negron ran away from the audience.

Negron was captured by a state trooper on Rt. 202. Seijo was captured by a Good Samaritan and another state trooper on Rocky Run Parkway.

Police said they were amazed Eder, who was wearing a seat belt, walked away from the accident uninjured.

Both men are charged with receiving stolen property, theft and conspiracy. Seijo was also charged with resisting arrest and Negron was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon after troopers found a knife in his pocket.
