Two purse snatching suspects were arrested Saturday after they unsuccessfully tried to use a stolen credit card for a purchase at Wal-Mart.
According to police, 20-year-old Timothy Randall snatched the purse of a 62-year-old female at the Prices Lanes Bowling Center at around 3:15 p.m.
Police say Randall and his accomplice, 18-year-old Jessica Paoli, then fled the bowling alley on foot, evading the victim's husband who police said gave chase.
About 30 minutes later, Randall and Paoli tried to make a purchase at the nearby Centreville Road Wal-Mart with the victim's credit card. Police said the clerk was suspicious and asked for identification. Unable to produce any, Randall and Paoli again fled on foot, but were not as lucky.
Paoli got away, but Wal-Mart security officers latched onto Randall and turned him over to police. On Sunday, the officers arrested Paoli at her home hiding underneath a baby crib.
Both were charged with identity theft, theft, unlawful use of a credit card and two counts of conspiracy.
Randall was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $5,000 secured bail. Paoli was committed to the Baylor Woman’s Correctional Institute in lieu of $7,000 secured bond.
