Q Why did you start your own business?
A I love grooming, and truly enjoy the partnership developed with the customers, where we work together to do the best for their companion pets.

I made the decision to start my own business while I was recovering from some health issues. I thought I would work a few days a week, and just enjoy what I love to do the most, grooming. Being independent affords me the flexibility to really have that one-on-one experience with the pets and their owners.

Little did I realize that the business would take off the way it did, and I feel very blessed for it. I am blessed with a good business because of the good customers who truly want to do what is best for their companions. Most of all, I am blessed with having my husband’s complete support.

Q What is your single biggest day-to-day challenge?
A Making sure I don’t forget my GPS, as I have no sense of direction.

Q What is your favorite part of your job?
A Teaching my customers the best ways to take care of their dogs and cats.

Q What did you want to be when you grew up?
A A jockey, but I was already too tall by age 12. I always knew I wanted to work with animals.

Q Name someone who has had a major influence in your life.
A My 7th grade math teacher. She taught me that I could do anything if I really set my mind to it. She said that negatives were part of math, but just like in math, they weren’t always the answer, that I could change the results. “Shake off the negatives and move forward.” She was an inspiration.

Q Describe a pivotal moment in your life / career.
A In my life, being a mom. I love my kids, and I am very proud of them.
In my career…I saw a groomer turning a Standard Poodle into a Panda Bear and her skills were just amazing…it opened my eyes to all the possibilities.

Q What’s your most embarrassing moment?
A Ha! I went to a job interview, and just as I was called in to meet the interviewer, I spilled my cup of coffee all over my beautiful ivory suit….nope, I didn’t get the job. Taught me a lesson on flexibility.
