Wilmington, Del. —

To the Editor:

This is upsetting.

We are so close to gaining a Democratic majority in the State House of
Representatives and we have a real chance of electing our nation's first
black president. Now I discover the Delaware Democratic Party is spending
its money, money donated by loyal Democrats, to fund John Carney radio ads
in an unwise battle against Jack Markell.

While Markell may have started out as the underdog in this race, he has
clearly emerged as the front runner over the past year.

Why is the State Party wasting our small treasury on trying to beat this
guy - a guy who we should all want to be our governor anyway? John Carney was
irresponsible for accepting funds from the State Party to pay for his
campaign radio ads, surely he must have other donors who could help him with
this task.

He should stop utilizing resources from the Party and let the money be spent
on helping Matt Denn's campaign for Lt. Governor, who is up against a deep
pocket Republican, and defeating Republicans around the state and
nationally.
