Greenville, Del. —
There has been controversy regarding whether or not parents should give their children the flu shot. As the mother of a 2-year-old boy and the wife of a pediatrician, it is my opinion that the flu shot is a proactive choice for the health of my son.
My husband strongly encourages the flu vaccination for children, the elderly and anyone in contact with these populations. The influenza virus can be devastating and even lethal in at-risk populations. I feel fortunate that my son has the opportunity to receive the flu vaccination.
