To the Editor:
Die hard Democrat or not, the time has come to vote for a candidate like Barack Obama. This primary season has brought tons of enthusiasm to the party, along with millions of new voters nationwide as both Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama put a spotlight on the issues most important to voters. Now that this historic primary is over, it's time for the Democratic Party to unify and rally behind Obama.
The change Obama promises is something that we desperately need in this country after eight years of Bush. But Obama also needs Clinton's supporters to help him and the Democratic Party recapture the White House in 2008 and bring this change.
This is a historical year for the United States of America and much is at stake.
McCain and the Republican Party are not committed to bringing about the positive and innovative change that this nation needs. From the economy to the war, McCain represents four more years of Bush. Some pundits label him a maverick. But when you vote along party lines 95 percent of the time — as McCain has in his latest term — that's not standing up to Bush and the Republicans. Not only Democrats but Independents and many Republicans are begging for change. In November, cast your historical vote for the Democrat, Barack Obama.
