You printed a letter from a reader who is 66 years old and is afraid that when she retires, she won’t be able to pay for healthcare, so she wants working people to pay for her care through Obamacare.
Current workers should be given a chance like she had to save for their retirement, instead of the government taking all of their disposable income and then some. Secondly, why does she think she will receive adequate healthcare through Medicare when Obamacare cuts Medicare benefits by $400 to $500 billion (I’ve heard both numbers) over the next 10 years even though the baby boomers will be added to the Medicare rolls.
The Arizona Mayo Clinic won’t accept Medicare patients, as well as some local doctors, because the Medicare payments don’t meet their costs. The bribery that occurred in the Senate to obtain “yes” votes for Obamacare foretells how bribery will dominate the priorities given healthcare treatment.
