Mill Creek, Del. —

Attendees for the Bike show and Blues festival got more than an earful with three blues bands and a huge collection of deafening motorcycles on display and in the parking lot, driven in by those attending the event.

The festival benefited the Motorcycle Accident Victims charity and guests received a key chain and decorative event pin with their wristband.  Everyone who entered received a voting ballet for the bike show.

Bikers set up starting at 10 a.m. under sunny skies and balmy weather, with the first band, Venom Blues, starting their set at 11.  The music continued with Blue Cat Blues and Stevie Larocca and the Witch Doctors. In addition, there was a silent auction, poker run, and 50/50, with plenty of food and places to shop for biker gear and other merchandise.

The Poker Run involved following a set of driving directions to stop at various checkpoints and pick up poker cards.  When guests returned, they used the cards to make the best hand possible and win prizes.  Due to time constraints the checkpoints were removed, but the run went on as planned.

Motorcycle Accident Victims formed in 1994 to help riders who were injured in accidents through no fault of their own. The Bike and Blues festival is the organization's primary fundraiser. The event is volunteer-run, by both bikers and non-bikers.

All proceeds will benefit the Motorcycle Accident Victims and their families. For more information, call Jim-Bob Golden at 378-3701 or visit www.motorcycleaccidentvictims.org.
