Newark, Del. —

Officials from the Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) will discuss three transportation plans at a public workshop on August 18.

The first: WILMAPCO’s Public Participation Plan, which creates a framework for involving the public in transportation planning. The second: the Delaware Department of Transportation’s Long-Range Transportation Plan, which seeks to balance the needs of the state's residents and transportation network.

WILMAPCO officials will also discuss amendments to the Transportation Improvement Program, a four-year funding program outlining $1.5 billion in transportation projects in Delaware and Cecil County, Md.

The workshop, which will be held at WILMAPCO’s office on Library Avenue in Newark from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., will be immediately followed by a meeting of the Public Advisory Committee.

For more information, visit WILMAPCO’s website or call (302) 737-6205.
