Pike Creek, Del. —

Students, parents and faculty members helped beautify John Dickinson High School in Pike Creek during the Sports Boosters' back to school cleanup on Aug. 23. They collected trash, cleaned out flower beds and painted in preparation for the first day of school on Aug. 26.

Breaking down a cartload of cardboard boxes for recycling, junior Brianne DeFroda said she was glad to do her part to make Dickinson High School sparkle on the first day, even though it meant spending time at school on the last Saturday of summer vacation.

The end of summer is bittersweet, she said, because it means the end of carefree fun, but she is looking forward to seeing her school friends and playing volleyball for the Rams.
