Yorklyn, Del. —

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that Creek Road between Snuff Mill Road and Sharpless Road will be closed daily 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 17.

A detour will be posted as follows:
• Southbound – Creek Road/Route 82; left on Snuff Mill Road; right on Old Kennett Road; right on Ashland Clinton School Road; left on Creek Road.
• Northbound – Creek Road/Route 82; left on Sharpless Road; right on Old Wilmington Road; right on Meetinghouse Road; right on Benge Road; left on Creek Road/Route 82.

In September, Asplundh Tree Expert Co. of Willow Grove, Pa. removed several trees on Creek Road that were a safety hazard to motorists. The additional four-day closure is necessary to remove the trunks and stumps. The entire roadway must be closed during work hours to maintain the safety of motorists and contractors. The continuing removals are included in the project cost of $8,923.66.
