Micki Edelsohn, founder and treasurer of Homes For Life Foundation, received the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wilmington Senior Center.
The award recognizes an older adult who has made a significant contribution to the community through business, public service or volunteer work.
Edelsohn, of Greenville, founded Homes for Life, a nonprofit organization that raises money to build and furnish safe and comfortable neighborhood group homes for adults with mental disabilities. So far, 25 homes have been built in New Castle County.
