Wilmington Friends School held its Final Assembly and Commencement on Monday, June 14, on the Alapocas campus.

Three seniors were chosen by their classmates to speak at Final Assembly: Sam Finkelman, Connor Juers, and Amanya Maloba. Finkelman and Juers spoke as a team.

Finkelman said of the Class of 2010, “A large component of our legacy rests on our accomplishments—I’m up here with three state champion athletes and a group of kids with a college list that looks like it came straight out of US News & World Report—but I think the bulk of our legacy rests on something much more important: compassion.”

Maloba said of her classmates, “I’m still thrilled and fascinated by these remarkable people.” She described the class as “creative,” ”funny,” and “loving.”

“This ability to still love and support each other without needing always to see eye-to-eye is something that I greatly valued as we all learned to accept others while developing our own strong sense of self,” she said.
