DNREC’s Polly Drummond Hill and DART Mid-County Community yard waste site are scheduled to close for maintenance the week of Sept. 7-10 and Sept. 13-17, respectively, for routine maintenance.
The Polly Drummond site is off Polly Drummond Hill Road, about a half mile north of the Kirkwood Highway near Newark.
The Mid-County site is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear.
Polly Drummond is scheduled to reopen at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, while Mid-County is scheduled to return to its regular schedule at 8:30 Saturday, Sept. 18, said Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control officials.
New Castle County residents wishing to drop off yard waste when the Polly Drummond Hill or Mid-Count sites are closed can take yard waste to several other alternatives, DNREC officials said. A list of these alternatives, can be found at www.dnrec.delaware.gov/yardwaste.
The regular hours for both sites are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, unless otherwise posted.
Commercial businesses, such as landscaping and lawn care companies as well as municipalities, are not eligible to drop off materials at the sites.
