Three people were arrested in the Sparrow Run community in Bear Saturday when police found more than three pounds of marijuana and 54 Oxycodone pills in their car.
Britney Trigg, 23, of Dover was pulled over by New Castle County police when she failed to signal as she turned onto Rt. 40.
When the officer approached the car, he smelt a strong air freshener, police said.
A computer check then showed that Trigg was driving with a suspended license.
“As the officer returned to the vehicle, a distinct odor of marijuana was emanating from the interior of the car,” said New Castle County police spokesman Cpl. John Weglarz.
Trigg, Margareta Neal, 28 and Steven Sage, 27, were asked by police to exit the car.
A search found Neal to be in possession of 12.5 grams of marijuana and the Oxycodone pills.
In the backseat of the car, police found an additional 3.5 pounds of marijuana packaged in four large zip-lock freezer bags, Weglarz said.
Trigg was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correction Institute after failing to post bail on six charges.
Neal was arraigned and released on a $51,000 bond and Sage was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute after failing to post bail.
