New Castle County Police have charged a 15-year-old teen in connection with a safe and computer stolen from a Naamans Road apartment complex.

Police said when unidentified residents of a Stratford Apartment returned home just before 6 p.m. on Feb. 8, they found their apartment door forced open and a safe and laptop were missing. They reported the safe contained cash, police said. Witnesses told police they say a young man carrying a large, square object from the victims' home.

Footprints in the snow led to the apartment of 15-year-old Kareem Tilghman. The missing laptop and safe were found in Tilghman's apartment, police said, and the safe contained both cash and 72 grams of marijuana.

Tilghman has been charged with burglary and related offenses. Charges against the owners of the safe are pending, police said.
