Wilmington, Del. —

The Brady Kohn Foundation entered a partnership with St. Francis Hospital on June 22 to provide women the opportunity to make a public umbilical cord blood donation.

The donations will be available through the National Bone Marrow Registry to any of the 30,000 patients in the U.S. each year who are diagnosed with a disease that can be treated or cured with stem cells from umbilical cord blood.

St. Francis Hospital collected its first umbilical cord blood unit on May 9 through an initiative called Operation Precious Cargo.
