The Center for the Creative Arts’ first annual Yorklyn Yearly Yard Sale raised enough money to provide summer camp scholarships for 15 students in Hockessin and Kennett Square, Pa.
The yard sale, held June 6, brought together neighbors, members, teachers, students and friends of CCArts who shopped for framed art, paintings, prints, crafts, art supplies, household items, electronics, books, videos, toys, clothing and antiques from 21 vendors.
The need for summer camp scholarships was greater than ever; CCArts received twice as many scholarship requests as usual and saw many of its best funding sources dry up.
