Mass transit could save Delaware commuters thousands

Delaware commuters who ride mass transit to work in Philadelphia stand to save more than $11,000 each year, according to a study by the American Public Transportation Association.

The potential savings of Delaware Valley commuters was ranked sixth on the association’s list of 20 cities with the highest transit ridership.

Parking in a downtown business district costs an average of $154.23 a month and drivers must also pay gas prices that have increased 19 cents over the past month, the report said.
