AstraZeneca has been selected as one of the 35 national finalists for the 2009 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.

The award is the U.S. government’s highest recognition given to employers for supporting their employees in the National Guard and Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard Reserve.

Only members of the National Guard or Reserve may nominate an employer.

AstraZeneca was selected from among 3,200 nominations. A national selection board will choose 15 recipients, which will be announced by the Department of Defense in July.
