Two men broke into a Claymont apartment building, assaulting and robbing a 63-year-old man on Monday, Dec. 28, New Castle County Police said.
The victim was sleeping inside his third floor apartment in the East Point Apartment complex at about 9:30 p.m., when he heard a loud noise outside of his apartment, police said. Moments later, he was attacked by two men who were armed with a knife, a large metal stick and possibly a handgun, police said. The victim was forced to stay inside a bedroom while the suspects ransacked the apartment before leaving.
The victim told police the two men got onto his balcony and smashed his sliding glass door to enter his apartment.
