Concord Soccer Association has named Fran Kulas as its new director of coaching and player development. He is an assistant coach with the under-14 & 15 USA Women’s National Team programs.
Kulas has coached men and women, boys and girls, field players, goalkeepers, and teams at every level of soccer in the United States.
Kulas, who holds the United States Soccer Federation’s national “A” and “youth” coaching licenses, the highest levels available, has coached at the international, professional, collegiate, high school and youth club levels. In addition to his on field coaching experience, he served as the state director of coach and player development for the state of Kentucky where he was responsible for all aspects of soccer development throughout the entire state. He has also published several articles in national publications.
“Over the past few years, I have had the pleasure of working with many of the Concord coaches and players in camp and clinic environments,” he said. “I am excited that I will have the opportunity to work with everyone in the club on a more regular basis now that I have a more formal role.”
Kulas’ appointment came around the same time that Concord Soccer broke ground on its new soccer complex on Naamans Road in Brandywine Hundred. The complex is scheduled to open in the fall of 2009. The new complex will feature space for up to three full sized fields and one small sided field when utilized at full capacity.
