Local bloggers and businesses have joined forces to raise money for Miles for Melanoma of Delaware.
Delawareliberal.net, a left-leaning blog about local and national politics, has organized a fundraiser at Twin Lakes Brewery in Greenville on Aug. 15.
The outdoor fundraiser, sponsored by Twin Lakes, Veritas Wine and Spirits and the Brandywine Tasting Group, will feature beer, food, raffles and music by James Day and the Fish Fry. A custom beer is being brewed for the event.

The event is non-partisan and designed to be a fun, relaxing afternoon for everyone 21 and older, according to Delawareliberal.net blogger Canio Caputo, of Brandywine Hundred.
The group, which raised $1,500 for Autism of Delaware earlier this year, chose Miles for Melanoma because awareness of melanoma in the region is low, Caputo said.
Melanoma is the most common cancer in adults aged 20 to 30 and 58,000 new cases are reported yearly, according to Miles for Melanoma. More than 8,100 people die of melanoma each year.
