Wilmington University to hold Green Energy Solutions

Fifteen students from Wilmington University’s Business Fusion program have organized the Green Energy Solutions event to help make the University more environmentally friendly. Green Energy Solutions will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Feb. 10 in the Alumni Center on the New Castle campus and will feature proposals on the benefits of shifting to solar power, wind power or geothermal power.

Gov. Jack Markell has ordered the state of emergency imposed Feb. 5 to be lifted at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8. Many roads remain dangerous, however, and the governor urges continued caution while driving.


Westminster Presbyterian contributes to Haiti relief efforts

In the wake of the Haiti earthquake, members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington  were asked to pray for those affected by the disaster, to contribute financially, and to make either hygiene or baby kits for Gifts of the Heart. Members and their friends donated $19,000 for Haiti Relief.
